NORFOLK — The Hampton Roads Sports Commission is now an official “team member” of the Hampton Roads Chamber.

And its work to attract major athletic events, and promote local youth and adult sports will continue.

Claudell Clark, former executive director of the commission for two years, now serves as the chamber’s vice president for regional sports.

The former baseball coach and athletic administrator at Norfolk State University said the change will allow sports to integrate more fully into the region’s economy and the daily lives of residents.
