Serving Our Business Community with a Five Star Accreditation

Did you know that the Hampton Roads Chamber is 1 of only 140 Five-Star Accredited chambers in the United States? Of those 140, we are 1 of only 4 that are recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the state of Virginia. We are incredibly proud to be serving our business community with this highest level of Five-Star Accreditation.

What is Five-Star Accreditation?

The accreditation process is the only national program of its kind that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. With more than 7,000 chambers in the United States, only a total of 194 are accredited in any category. Chambers can be presented with three-star, four-star, or five-star accreditation with the five-star distinction being the highest category of accreditation. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members, and chamber executives from across the country.

In regards to accreditation, he U.S. Chamber of Commerce shared, “Accreditation with the United States Chamber of Commerce is the only program of its kind that defines excellence in chamber planning and recognizes chambers for outstanding contributions toward positive change in their communities.”

For us, it is an honor to be serving our business community with a Five-Star Accreditation. By earning this accreditation again, the Hampton Roads Chamber continues to show that we are dedicated to the following:

  • Reviewing, improving, and promoting strong business practices
  • Recognizing leadership and outstanding contributions to the community
  • Supporting free enterprise and pro-growth policies at federal, state, and local levels
  • Establishing best practices and staying in step with industry changes
