Volunteer Hampton Roads CEO Stephanie Gorham said in the release that volunteerism affects businesses in numerous ways — from assisting employers with recruitment and retention to boosting employee morale. In addition to providing training and coordinating large-scale projects, the nonprofit matches community volunteers and skills with nonprofit jobs through an online platform.
