Amanda Duncan serves as the Marketing and Communications Manager. In this role, she is tasked with managing communications within the Chamber and helping create content to share the Chamber’s story and inform members of upcoming events.
Her goal is to connect Chamber members with other local businesses and organizations, helping to foster a stronger sense of community amongst Chamber members and the people of Hampton Roads.
Prior to her time at the Hampton Roads Chamber, Amanda made it a priority to be involved in the business community no matter where she resided. While living in Farmville, Virginia, Amanda was a member of the Main Street Merchants Group as well as the Board of the Farmville Downtown Partnership. After relocating to Williamsburg, Virginia while her husband attended law school, Amanda became active in the local Chamber of Commerce. Those involvements, as well as her previous marketing and retail experience, provide her with a unique perspective and strong foundation as she works to build community within Hampton Roads and further the Chamber’s mission of aiding the growth of local business.
On a personal note, Amanda is originally from Central Virginia but recently moved to the Norfolk area with her husband and cat. Outside of work, Amanda loves to explore new places in Hampton Roads. She loves to walk around the waterfront of Town Point Park and see the historical homes of Ghent and the cobblestone streets of the Freemason district.
