Jennifer (Jenn) O’Donnell serves as Payroll and Accounting Manager at the Hampton Roads Chamber where she oversees payroll operations and supports the organization’s daily accounting and human resource functions. With more than 21 years of service to the Chamber, Jenn brings extensive institutional knowledge and a steady, detail-oriented approach to her role.
In this role, Jenn is responsible for processing payroll, managing daily accounting operations, and supporting key human resource functions. Her responsibilities also include directing building and office maintenance, overseeing office supply procurement, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.
Jenn began her career at the Chamber as a Front Desk Information Coordinator before transitioning to the Accounting Department as an Accounting Assistant. In 2016, she was promoted to Payroll and Accounting Manager, a role in which she continues to provide trusted leadership and operational excellence.
What Jenn finds most rewarding about her role as Payroll and Accounting Manager is serving as the financial heartbeat of the organization. While the day-to-day work requires a high level of precision and technical expertise, the role also offers a meaningful blend of human impact, operational responsibility, and strategic influence. Through this position, Jenn has grown both professionally and personally, taking pride in supporting the organization and the people who help drive its mission forward.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys experiencing the vibrant local music scene and attending concerts throughout Hampton Roads. A Portsmouth native for more than 40 years, her favorite venue is the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion. When she is not at a concert, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and son, as well as visiting nearby beaches.
