AIT Announces New President Cheryl Spraberry

Appointed by Governor to Virginia State Board of Workforce Development

(October 19, 2022, Norfolk, Va.) Advanced Integrated Technologies has named Cheryl Spraberry President of AIT and Surge Force, responsible for the Norfolk, Virginia and San Diego, California operations and future strategic expansions. She has 20 years experience in workforce recruitment and training, co-founding Surge Force in 2012, after joining her husband, company CEO Carl Spraberry when he started AIT in 2009 specializing in ship repair, maintenance, and modernization.

AIT and Surge Force has grown to over 150 employees supporting shipyards and government agencies with staffing for ship repair, and providing USS Navy ship/repair, modernization and new technologies working throughout Hampton Roads area and recently on the West Coast.

In July, Governor Glenn Youngkin appointed Cheryl Spraberry to the Virginia State Board of Workforce Development. The Workforce Development Board members represent businesses across the commonwealth and include representatives from labor and training providers as well as public sector leadership from local government, six cabinet secretaries, and four members of the General Assembly.

Cheryls expertise in ship repair and talent acquisition positions AIT and Surge Force to be the industry leader supporting our customers, the maritime industry and our community, CEO Carl Spraberry said. Cheryl Spraberry served on the board of directors for the American Maritime Modernization Association, National Federation of Independent Business, DRC, NFIB, NFIB Leadership Committee, DRC, and Woman Against Violence (WAV). She is a member of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Ship Repair Association, The Port of Virginia, and the Port of San Diego Ship Repair Association and the Shipbuilders Council of America.

AIT headquarters is in the Norfolk Industrial Park at 2427 Ingleside Road with over 30,000 square feet of warehouse, offices, and additional facilities to accomplish any maritime industrial requirement in southeastern Virginia.
