Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast Announces 2025-2026 Board of Directors Appointments
Girl Scouts of Colonial Coast announced appointments to its board of directors for 2025-2026.
Girl Scouts of Colonial Coast (GSCCC) welcomes Lucinda (Lu Ann) W. Klevecz, Esq., current vice chair, as their incoming board chair for 2025-2026, and Dr. Leonard Brown, Jr., current member at large, as incoming vice chair for 2025-2026.
Klevecz, a Yorktown, Virginia, resident, will continue to use her expertise in law, corporate communications, and strategic alignment to drive GSCCC’s mission forward. Klevecz has served as general counsel and managing director for Harbor Group International, LLC (HGI), a commercial real estate investment company headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia. While with HGI, she supervised all legal matters and related personnel for both HGI and its affiliate, Harbor Group Management Company. She retired in December 2021. Klevecz holds a law degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach and a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
Her involvement as an adult volunteer with GSCCC began in 2016 when she joined the GSCCC Board of Directors as a Member at Large for three consecutive terms. Klevecz soon became active on the Property Task Group on which she led as Committee Chair. She rejoined the Board as Vice Chair in 2023 and accepted the position of Board Chair in 2025. Klevecz has three granddaughters who are members of GSCCC. In addition to serving on the GSCCC Board of Directors, Klevecz is currently on an advisory committee at Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University, and she serves on the Junior Sailing Committee at the Seaford Yacht Club in York County.
Dr. Leonard Brown Jr. serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs at Norfolk State University (NSU) and has been in the position since July 2020. He has been a member of GSCCC’s Board of Directors, supporting several projects and initiatives since 2021. Dr. Brown’s entire professional career has been in student affairs in higher education and he brings his talents to GSCCC’s Board of Directors. His responsibilities at NSU broadly include the out-of-class experience for all graduate and undergraduate students. Before NSU, he served as the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at St. Mary’s College in Maryland. Prior to that, Dr. Brown served as the Dean of Students at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, his alma mater. Dr. Brown holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, a Master’s degree in Theology, and a Doctorate in Management.
Along with Klevecz and Brown, GSCCC’s board of directors includes lifelong Girl Scouts, nonprofit and corporate executives, and other community leaders who have Girl Scout knowledge and outside expertise in education, strategic visions, communications and marketing, technology, policy, and finance.
