Anne Thuma serves as the Vice President of Programs and Development as well as the Executive Director of tHRive. In her role as Vice President of Programs and Development, she produces and executes the Signature Events of the Chamber. Some of those events include the State of the City Series, State of the Region, Leadership Exchange, Senatorial Forum, Small Business of the Year Awards, and many more! It is her job to ensure each event has a meaningful purpose and intent that supports our business community and members. As the Vice President of Development, she works directly with our sponsors and Strategic Partners to ensure their partnerships are fulfilled. In her role as Executive Director of tHRive, she works with regional young professionals to host programs and events to empower young professionals, give them a voice, and have them invest in the future of our region.
Having been with the Chamber for 10 years, Anne is committed to ensuring that we host world-class events that benefit our members and the business community. Through her work with the Chamber and tHRive, she would like to make Hampton Roads a nationally known region where individuals want to live, work and play.
Prior to her time at the Chamber, Anne was an intern for the Hampton Roads Sports Commission. She first joined the Chamber as a Program Coordinator, then took the role of Program Manager and Director, before her promotion to Vice President of Programs and Development. She was also one of the original founders of tHRive, the Young Professionals Organization of the Chamber.
On a personal note, Anne loves the water. The beach is her happy place and being close to the water is a must! Although she is still a beginner, Anne has a new found love for golfing and hopes to improve her game.
