Anne Thuma serves as Vice President of Programs & Development for the Hampton Roads Chamber, bringing more than 14 years of experience and institutional knowledge to the organization.
Her career with the Chamber began as an intern with the Sports Commission and has progressed through roles of increasing responsibility, including Programs and Development Coordinator, Manager, Director, and now Vice President, a role she has held since May 2022.
In this position, Anne leads the planning and execution of the Chamber’s Signature Events, including the State of the City Series, State of the Region, Leadership Exchange, Senatorial Forum, Small Business of the Year Awards, and more. She ensures each event is purpose-driven, strategically aligned, and designed to support the Chamber’s members and the broader business community. Anne also oversees Development efforts, working closely with sponsors and Strategic Partners to cultivate meaningful, high-impact partnerships.
In addition, Anne serves as Executive Director of tHRive, the Chamber’s young professionals network, which she founded to support the next generation of regional leaders.
What Anne finds most rewarding about her role is seeing ideas turn into impactful experiences that serve the business community. She values watching connections grow into collaboration and long-term investment across the region.
Outside of work, Anne enjoys exploring Downtown Norfolk, going out to dinner and drinks before catching a Broadway show at the Chrysler, one of her favorite ways to experience the region’s vibrant arts and culture scene.
