Justin Saunders serves as Vice President of Membership & Strategic Growth. In this role, he is primarily responsible for the organizations overall growth strategy. The Hampton Roads Chamber is now the largest Chamber in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He also oversees all membership responsibilities including sourcing and onboarding new members, furthering member engagement, ensuring member retention, and evaluating the overall value of memberships. He is also responsible for the oversight of five division boards, ambassador program, ribbon cutting ceremonies, and a number of committees and events. He is results-oriented with a strong emphasis on integrity. He believes that results never lie and integrity is always essential.
Justin takes inspiration from Douglas MacArthur, who said that a “true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.”
A few of his many skills include leadership, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, development, and relationship building. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau, Honorary Commander for the 63 Intelligence Squadron – United States Air Force, and a 2023 graduate of LEAD757. He also serves on many other boards and committees in addition to volunteering with multiple non-profit organizations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University at Buffalo and studied Business Administration and Communication. He has now generated millions of dollars in net profit and created hundreds of careers along the east coast.
On a personal note, he is always aiming to learn something new that will better his awareness and ability to support others.
