Visual Conversations: Community Resilience over Violence project

EVMS Art Therapy and Counseling Arts for Optimal Health workshops

Visual Conversations: Community Resilience over Violence is a series of workshops to be held in  Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach.  The workshops will begin with a 30 minute presentation by EVMS’ Master of Public Health and Art Therapy and Counseling, as well as a community partner, related to topics regarding Gun Violence, Trauma Informed Care, Mentoring Youth and Fostering Resilience.  Following each presentation, participants will reflect through art making and discussion facilitated by an art therapist.

This project is funded by the United Way of South Hampton Roads Hope and Healing grant, established in response to the tragedy at the Chesapeake Walmart in November 2022.
