Company celebrates Virginia Beach capital accelerator program graduates, looks to expand in Hampton Roads

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (May 22, 2024) – Anthony Global Holdings Inc. (AGH) is helping SWAM businesses in Hampton Roads grow through its Economic UPLIFT Capital Accelerator Program. Today, 10 businesses celebrated completing the 8-week program at The Hive in Virginia Beach, 10 a.m. – noon. This is the third cohort AGH has held through its subsidiary AGH Advisory Services in partnership with the Virginia Beach SWaM Business Office.

“The UPLIFT program did everything I expected and more,” expressed UPLIFT alum DeMarcus Wade, owner of Exclusive and Elusive Commercial Cleaning, who was in attendance of the graduation. “The knowledge and the people who are a part of this program are amazing. I’ve gained connections that will benefit me and my business for the long term.” Wade was a participant in the first class of the program.

The UPLIFT Program works to promote growth for businesses that serve emerging communities through enhanced access to capital, business networks and supply chains to help fuel more equitable economic growth and wealth building in the region. The accelerator enhances participation among coalitions of economic development groups, entrepreneurship support organizations, major corporations, anchor institutions and philanthropic organizations that make commitments to support and scale minority, women and service-disabled veteran owned businesses.

“This program is an opportunity for us to give back to communities, build a network of small businesses and take the lessons I learned as an entrepreneur to truly build out and grow community wealth,” stated AGH CEO Steven Anthony about the UPLIFT program. “It’s helping minority, women and veteran-owned businesses scale and grow their enterprises.”

In July, the program will expand to Bloom Coworking in Portsmouth, partnering with Portsmouth Partnership. To participate, businesses are required to have a minimum number of years in operation and minimum annual revenue based upon the requirements of AGH’s local partners. Applications for this accelerator will open June 10 on the AGH Advisory Services website. Another class will be held in Virginia Beach in September, and applications for this class open in August and will also be available on AGH Advisory Services website.

For more information on these programs, please reach out to the Virginia Beach SWaM Business Office or Michelle Wren, executive director of Portsmouth Partnership.
