Deb Vollmer of Langley Federal Credit Union Recognized as Professional of the Year by League of Credit Unions and Affiliates
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Langley Federal Credit Union Chief Experience Officer Deb Vollmer received the Professional of the Year Award at The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates’ 2025 ENGAGE Conference. Known as the Eugene H. Farley Award in Virginia, this award recognizes seasoned credit union professionals for their exceptional service and contributions to the credit union system through innovation, leadership and advocacy.
Vollmer’s leadership with the Credit Union Service Company of Virginia, including terms as chair, secretary and now vice-chair, has guided meaningful movements for credit unions across the commonwealth. She also served on the League of Credit Union’s board from 2023-2024, lending her voice to advance the credit union mission.
Over the course of her career at Langley, Vollmer has helped transformed communities through philanthropy and volunteerism. She serves on the Langley for Families Foundation’s grant review committee helping to direct vital funding to local nonprofit organizations. In addition, Vollmer’s passion for health equity helped shape Langley’s first capital campaign investment: a $1 million donation to support the build of Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters’ mental health hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, which opened for services in 2022. Vollmer also previously chaired the development advisory board and currently serves on the Philanthropy Council for CHKD, ensuring children and families across Virginia have access to life-changing care.
“Deb has spent her career championing service, leading with empathy, and advocating on behalf of those who need us most across our communities,” said Langley Chief Impact Officer Jerome Fowlkes. “Langley is proud that Deb has received this distinguished award for her years of service and significant achievements across the credit union movement.
